![]() Message from the Mayor As Mayor of a city carved out of the Nevada desert, and one of the fastest growing cities in America, I am pleased to present the Creating Communities: Innovative Designs for Desert Living Competition. Henderson has been recognized as one of the best cities in America to live in; however, growth, especially in a desert region, creates unique challenges that must be considered in order to maximize quality of life, while minimizing the impact on our precious natural resources. That is why I am so pleased to present these innovative concepts that take a serious look at the way development is done, especially in the desert southwest. Congratulations to everyone who took part in this competition and thank you for your creativity and contribution to building sustainable, quality neighborhoods and communities. |
