Professional Biography:
Skeet Fitzgerald serves as the city of Henderson's first Manager of Neighborhood Services, a division
of the City Manager's Office established in January 2001. The goal of the Neighborhood Services
Division is to foster unified and healthy neighborhoods. As the Manager, he oversees affordable
housing programs; local, state and federal grant funds and programs; and neighborhood enhancement
programs. He is also tasked with increasing communication between the City and its residents;
working with neighborhood organizations to build an effective communication network; and improving
internal coordination of city services to benefit city of Henderson residents.
Originally from Wisconsin, Skeet attended college in his home state and has made Southern Nevada his home since 1970. Skeet began his career with the City in 1983 as the Housing Rehabilitation Specialist. In 1994, he became the Housing Development Manager and then in 1999 the Housing and Grants Manager.
Skeet is on the local board of directors for the Henderson Association for Senior Citizen Housing, a non-profit senior citizen housing organization. He also serves on the national board of directors for the National Community Development Association (NCDA). He is a current member of Neighborhoods USA (NUSA) and is a long-time member of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. In 1988, Skeet served on a congressional task force conducting a National Housing Forum to examine housing issues in America.
