Professional Biography:
Barbara A. Geach was named Neighborhood Relations Manager in May 2011 after serving as the acting Neighborhood Services Manager for one year. She manages four areas including Neighborhood Relations/Enhancement, Code Enforcement, Affordable Housing and Grant Programs, with a charge to make a difference in the lives of Henderson residents by offering premier services, programs and resources that enhance the Henderson community.

Barbara joined the city in April 1993 as a Human Resource Analyst I. During her city tenure, Barbara held the positions of Human Resources Analyst II and Senior Human Resources Analyst in the Training and Organizational division. From May 2003 to February 2010, she was the Neighborhood Programs Coordinator, leading a team responsible for programs including the Volunteer Partnership Program, Neighborhood Leadership Forum, City Hall at the Mall, and If I Were Mayor… student essay contest.

Prior to her city service, Barbara served as the first Human Resource Manager for Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada. Before settling in Henderson, Barbara worked for Amserv Incorporation in Reno, Nevada, where she was the Vice President of Operations for an electrocardiogram processing center.

Barbara holds a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from the University of Nevada, Reno and a master’s degree in education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Barbara is a trained and certified mediator through the Clark County Neighborhood Justice Center and certified in public participation through the International Association for Public Participation. Additionally, she is an alumnus of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Leadership Henderson class of 2003 and a graduate of the city of Henderson 2006 management institute.

Barbara has served on the board of directors for S.A.F.E. House, Neighborhoods USA, Toastmaster’s Speak Easy Club and the International Association for Public Participation - Silver State Chapter. She is currently serving on the United Way Emergency Food and Shelter Program board of directors.
