Professional Biography:
Elected in April 2007, Judge Mark Stevens serves as city of Henderson Municipal Court Judge, Department 1. Judge Stevens presides over criminal arraignments, criminal trials, traffic arraignments and traffic trials.

Prior to becoming Henderson Municipal Court Judge, Judge Stevens was a prosecutor with the Henderson City Attorney’s Office – Criminal Division for seven years. Before accepting his position as prosecutor, Judge Stevens served as a Henderson Police Officer for three years as a graveyard patrol officer.

Before joining the Henderson Police Force, Judge Stevens was in civil law practice and was the staff attorney for a law enforcement training center. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1988-1994 as captain, company commander, and a judge advocate defense attorney (JAG).

Judge Stevens received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University in 1985, a master's degree in Business Administration in 1987, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1990. Judge Stevens became a member of the Nevada State Bar in 1991.

As an attorney with over 15 years of legal experience, Judge Stevens is a member of the Clark County Bar Association, the U.S. Supreme Court Bar Association, and is licensed to practice law in U.S. District Court.

Judge Stevens formerly served as treasurer on the S.A.F.E. House Board of Directors and was an instructor for the Southern Desert Regional Police Academy. In addition, he currently is a Civil Air Patrol member with a commercial pilot’s license.
