Professional Biography:
Chris Wilding joined the city of Henderson as Chief Information Officer (CIO) in the Department of Information Technology in May 2008. The Department of Information Technology is responsible for providing technical support, development, implementation, and project management services for citywide computer infrastructure, software technology and for the City’s departmental information systems. The department, through collaboration and teamwork with City departments, provides high quality, reliable cost-effective information technology solutions that are critical in meeting the needs of the public.
Previously, Chris held the CIO position at Bechtel SAIC Co. LLC, the prime contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Yucca Mountain Repository program in Las Vegas. Prior to that, he held CIO positions on DOE nuclear programs in the state of Washington. Chris, a 15-year Bechtel veteran, has more than 30 years experience in the engineering and construction industry on large-scale international projects within petroleum, civil and federal government sectors. He has proven leadership experience of large, complex IT operations and has successfully implemented significant cost savings through the use of Six Sigma methodology. He has received numerous Bechtel accreditations in Project Management, Contract Management and related fields.
Chris is a Civil Engineering graduate from Westminster College in London, United Kingdom. He currently serves as a member of the Management Information Systems Advisory Board for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and is a member of the State of Nevada Entities Technology Alliance.
