Professional Biography:
Chief Steven R. Goble was selected as the ninth city of Henderson Fire Chief
in September 2011. He started with the city in 1990 as a Firefighter,
advancing to Engineer, Captain, Division Chief and Deputy Fire Chief.
Committed to ensuring public safety through emergency service delivery,
prevention and quality public education, Chief Goble has prioritized safety,
professionalism, customer service and organizational excellence for the city
of Henderson Fire Department. He envisions a community fire department that
the citizens of Henderson know and trust.
Prior to joining the city of Henderson, Chief Goble worked in the logistics
field for EG&G Special Projects.
A resident of Southern Nevada since 1966, Chief Goble graduated from Western
High School. He then earned degrees in Fire Service Management and Public
Safety Administration. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Public
Administration.
Chief Goble served as a principal officer of the International Association
of Fire Fighters (IAFF), Local 1883, where he established collaborative
relationships with local union leaders that have greatly benefitted the city
during difficult economic times. Chief Goble is currently a member of the
International Association of Fire Chiefs, Western Fire Chiefs Association,
and Nevada Fire Chiefs Association.
