Professional Biography:
Bob Cooper serves as the Economic Development/Redevelopment Manager for the city of Henderson. He is responsible
for the city's economic development strategy, including local business retention and expansion programs,
business attraction, strategic business alliances and business ombudsman activities. He also
manages city's Redevelopment Agency and its real estate holdings.
He has over 37 years of experience in economic development. Bob served as the President/CEO for five regional economic development corporations in Washington, Idaho and California.
Bob received his bachelor's degree in Geography from California State University, Fresno. Furthermore, he achieved his Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation from the American Economic Development Council in 1982.
In 2005, Bob became the first public sector representative to be honored as the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year. Additionally, he received the President's Award from the Clark County Medical Society for his leadership and creation of the Southern Nevada Medical Industry Coalition, was named by In Business Las Vegas as one of the top influential business leaders in the region, and in 2009 was recognized as a "Healthcare Hero" by Nevada Business Magazine.
He is a published author of numerous articles on economic development and serves on several boards and councils including the Henderson Development Association; Henderson Chamber Foundation Board; Henderson Chamber of Commerce; and the Southern Nevada Medical Industry Coalition.
