Professional Biography:
Christine Kidd joined the city of Henderson in February 1996 as a Project Engineer in the Public Works Department. She has over 23 years of experience in public works design and land development. Named as the Development Services Center Manager in November 2006, Christine provides leadership and direction to a multi-departmental operation responsible for the coordinated review of all development occurring within one of America’s fastest growing cities.
A native of Southern Nevada, Christine attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. She is also a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in the state of Nevada. Prior to joining the city of Henderson team, Christine was an employee within the Clark County Public Works Engineering Design section.
Christine has been a key member of the Development Services Center (DSC) operation since its inception in 2000. During her tenure, the Development Services Center received the 2005 America’s Crown Communities award and was named a finalist for the 2006 Cashman Good Government award.
In 2007, Henderson's DSC was selected as one of the top three local governments in the United States for having an outstanding development review process. The University of North Carolina School of Government interviewed 95 experts to identify communities across the country that have the best development review process, with the city of Henderson named by several. The DSC will now serve as a benchmarking partner for the University’s ongoing project.
A member of the American Public Works Association (APWA), Christine served a two year term as Treasurer for the APWA. She is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), a graduate of the 1993 Clark County Leadership Forum and a graduate of the 2005 and 2008 City of Henderson Leadership Institute.
