Professional Biography:
Polly Sheesley was named Internal Auditor of the city of Henderson in March 2006,
reporting to the director of Finance. In February 2010, Polly began
reporting to the City Manager. She manages the internal audit function which includes planning and conducting independent research, analysis, and audits that cover a full range of local government performance issues.
Polly has more than 20 years of government audit and operations experience. She began her career at the Texas State Auditor’s Office in 1985. In 1989 she moved to Southern Nevada and joined Clark County Internal Audit. After three years she moved to Clark County Department of Parks and Recreation and served as a Management Analyst, and finally as Fiscal Services Administrator.
Polly holds a bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin University in Texas. She is a Certified Internal Auditor and also a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Texas.
Polly currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Clark County Credit Union Board of Directors and on the Board of Governors of the Institute of Internal Auditor. Additionally, she is a member of the Association of Local Government Auditors.
