Mark A. Jacobs was appointed in November 2009 as the Alternative Sentencing Chief Marshal for the city of Henderson. He oversees the division responsible for enforcing the sentencing orders of the Henderson Municipal Court and the general supervision of these offenders with the objective to ensure victim and public safety as well as offender accountability.
Prior to becoming Chief Marshal, Mark served as an Investigator, Marshal and Senior Marshal with the City Attorney’s Office Investigations Unit for ten years.
Before joining the city of Henderson, Mark served as an officer with the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Parole and Probation Division from 1991 to 1999. Mark served with the Missouri Department of Corrections from 1987 to 1991, working as a Social Services Trainee, Caseworker and an Administrative Segregation Functional Unit Manager.
Mark received in 1984 an associate’s degree in Police Science from Triton College located in River Grove, Illinois. Additionally, in 1987 he earned multiple bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice, Psychology and Physical Education from Culver Stockton College in Canton, Missouri.
Mark is one of the founding members of the Henderson Coordinated Community Response team and has coached youth sports since 1995.
