The City of Henderson and Blue Ribbon Commission on
Educational Excellence and Youth Opportunity encourages both educators
and students to consider the following civic resources. Contact the Office
of the City Clerk at (702) 267-1405 to schedule a presentation for your next Career Day, Pep Rally or class
discussion.

Student Council Advisors will be assisted in coordinating student body or class
officer elections utilizing current voting equipment and ballot faces in
partnership with the Clark County Election Department.

Contact the Office of the City Clerk to schedule hands on demonstrations of the
voting system utilized in Municipal, County, State, and Federal
elections.

We encourage both educators and students to schedule and support voter
registration drives during senior Government classes, English classes, student
body elections, or other appropriate event. Students turning 18 years of age
before the next election may register to vote. Field registrars will review
completed registration applications to ensure they are completed properly, and
the Clark County Election Department will process the registration applications
on the student's birth date.

Upon a teacher's request, the Office of the City Clerk can provide in-class
instruction. Students are provided with a comprehensive overview of their local government,
including elected and appointed officials responsibilities, voting privileges
and opportunities to become election volunteers in their community.
