Kimm Bonecutter
This month our volunteer spotlight is shining on Kimm Bonecutter. Ms. Bonecutter began volunteering at the Henderson Animal Shelter in February 2008. She first contacted us with an interest to work with our adoptable dogs to fulfill volunteer time needed for her Animal Behavior College requirements. She has since graduated (with honors) and is now an ABC Certified Dog Trainer. Even though she no longer is required to volunteer, Kimm has stayed on and continues to enjoy dog training with our shelter dogs. With a full time job in the Bureau of Reclamation, laying groundwork for conducting dog training classes, and her own pets at home to take care of, she still finds time to come down and work with our adoptable dogs. With her exemplary training methods that she learned from the Animal Behavior College, and her dynamic personality, Kimm has opened the door here at the shelter for other ABC students to volunteer for their required time for school. Because of her, we will soon have five ABC students working with our dogs. It's a win-win situation for all; the dogs, the public, and the staff. Thank you, Kimm Bonecutter, for your continued commitment, time, effort , and enthusiasm that you contribute to the shelter and especially to the dogs. Your love and devotion to the animals and intense desire to see them all get homes, is appreciated by all of us at the Henderson Animal Shelter.
"Volunteerism is a state of mind which urges us to move beyond the routine of our everyday lives to perceive a need and give of ourselves to accomplish a worthwhile task." - - Emerson.
