Registration Each Rec & Roll and On the Go program can accommodate up to 10 people per day. Each month, there can be up to 15 people for each program who will receive a registration payment form, activity calendar and excursion wavier for the upcoming month. This will typically be sent out the first Monday of each month, unless it is a holiday, in which case it will be sent the Thursday prior. If the family provided an email address on their annual information form, then they will receive an email notifying them of upcoming registration, a copy of the waiver and information on how to register online without respite. They can view the activity calendar and excursion waiver for their program and register online at cityofhenderson.com. Contact the Therapeutic Recreation & Inclusion Services office if you have not received your registration packet by the end of the first full week of the month. Registration is on a first come, first served basis each month. It is accepted online and by mail. You may also register in person at the Therapeutic Recreation & Inclusion Services office or any Henderson recreation center, using a credit card, cash or check. Participants using respite or financial assistance must register at the Therapeutic Recreation & Inclusion Services office. Patrons will be notified upon registration if any dates are not available. Any registration received after the deadline must be approved through the Therapeutic Recreation & Inclusion Services office and will require three working days before the participant may attend. Participants may register only for the Rec & Roll or On the Go program assigned upon intake. If you have difficulty, be sure you are registering for the correct program or site (e.g., trying to register for VVRC On the Go when assigned to VVRC Rec & Roll). Any requests for changes to programs or sites must be directed to the Therapeutic Recreation & Inclusion Services office. While we do our best to ensure that planned activities run, the schedule may be subject to change at any time. If the activity will go to an off-site location that is different from the original one, families will be notified of the change. If the activity is changed but is not changing locations, families will not be notified of the change. The change of activity/location may also be written on the board where the program schedule is located. Policies & Procedures Participant Information Therapeutic Recreation & Inclusion Services updates participant information at the beginning of every school year. Annual information forms are sent out yearly to gather this information. Please remember to update all disability information, emergency contacts, and any other changes (e.g., home, work and emergency phone numbers). Attire Many of our activities involve active play and crafts/projects that may get messy. Tennis shoes are recommended along with comfortable clothing. Bathing suits and towels are required for swimming. Transportation • The City of Henderson partners with CAT Paratransit to transport participants to and from the recreation centers where our programs are held. • We provide the On the Go program with a daily pick up from Opportunity Village Lake Mead campus.
