Neighborhood Services strives to maintain positive
neighborhood relations, encourage public participation,
promote citizen self-sufficiency, provide affordable and
stable housing, preserve neighborhoods, and leverage
resources to serve our community. More information can

First-Time Homebuyer (FTB)
The City of Henderson assists low-income families with
an interest-free, deferred loan not to exceed 6 percent
of the purchase price or $10,000, whichever is less,
for down payment and closing costs. Additionally, the
program loans up to $35,000 for home repairs.
Housing Rehabilitation (HRP)
The City of Henderson will assist qualifying residents
with a zero percent interest-deferred loan, not to exceed
$45,000 (to be paid back if you breach the contract within
the 5-year affordability period). Contact us for more
Landscape Program (HELP)
The City of Henderson will assist income-qualified
residents with landscape improvements up to $5,000. This
interest-free deferred loan is available for front yard
blight conditions and turf removal.
Turf Removal Program (TRP)
The City of Henderson will assist residents with
landscape improvements up to $5,000. This low-interest
loan is available for turf removal and requires monthly
payments with an interest rate of 3 percent for a
maximum term of seven years.
The city’s Affordable Housing programs accept
contractor applications to bid on small- and mediumsized
residential projects including home rehabilitation
and emergency repair as well as landscaping. Visit our

A number of agencies can assist you if you have
questions about fair housing rights and responsibilities, or
if you wish to file a housing discrimination complaint. Our

Clean Up Your Neighborhood
Neighborhood Services has partnered with Republic
Services to provide 20-cubic-yard Dumpsters for
weekend cleanups. There is no charge for the service,
all we ask is that you distribute flyers, which we provide,
to your neighbors.
Henderson Shines, a free annual community cleanup
and recycling event gives residents the opportunity
to donate items, dispose of hazardous household
materials, recycle, and have documents shredded while
learning about the importance of sustainability.
Premier Community Awards
This annual event recognizes homeowner associations
and neighborhood associations for going above and
beyond in their efforts to improve their neighborhoods.
The event offers an opportunity for neighborhood
leaders, community managers and city staff to network
and share information about the many great things
happening in Henderson.
Neighborhood Leadership Toolkit
Are you and your neighbors interested in forming a
neighborhood association (NA)? Our toolkit provides
guidance and structure when developing your own NA.
It also provides information on services and programs

Henderson Mediation Program
Neighborhood Services has certified mediators
available to assist with conflict resolution between
disbuting neighbors. Issues such as barking dogs,
overhanging landscaping and noise concerns are
examples of conflicts that can be mediated. In the last
year, 80 percent of the cases we mediated resulted in an
