It is home to hundreds of migratory waterfowl, several species of resident desert birds and other desert wildlife. The paved path is approximately ¾ of a mile long, and soft-surface paths are level and allow for easy walking. Dress for the weather. We recommend you wear a hat and comfortable, sturdy shoes. Water is suggested. Expect to do a lot of walking. Pets and feeding of the birds and wildlife are strictly prohibited. All visitors must sign in at the visitor center and an adult must accompany children under the age of 14. Unaccompanied teens (14-17) must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Call to schedule tours at least 48 hours in advance. The Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve is a National Wildlife Federation-certified wildlife habitat site. While you’re visiting, be sure to stop by our gift shop. Binoculars are available for loan.
