PARK INFORMATION Pets in the Parks Pets are welcome in the parks, but they must be leashed at all times and are not allowed on the splash pads. Owners must clean up after their pets. We have a number of designated dog parks where dogs can run free and socialize with other dogs. To find locations near you, please refer to the Facility, Park & Trail Guide in the center of this publication. Pets are not permitted at the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve. PARK & PICNIC RESERVATIONS The Following Require Reservations: • Designated picnic areas • Use of inflatables, tents, etc. (in authorized areas only) • Use of alcoholic beverages (requires a special permit) • Grassy area reservations (requires approval) • Special events for over 400 attendees (requires a permit) • Any event with over 50 attendees (requires a permit) Park, Picnic & Whitney Mesa Camp Armijo Reservations Picnic areas (with a few exceptions) are available to all citizens on a first-come, first-served basis unless the area has been reserved through our reservation system. Individuals and groups may pay to reserve a specific picnic area. Signs will be posted at the picnic area to let others know it is reserved. All reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event; Henderson-based companies and residents may reserve picnic areas up to 180 days in advance. Non-residents may reserve picnic areas 90 days in advance. TENNIS COURT RESERVATIONS Private Instructor Reservations Private tennis instructors interested in renting City of Henderson tennis courts may call 702-267-5707 for information and qualifications. Public/Team Reservations Rates If you are a tennis player or NTA team, or a pickleball player interested in renting City of Henderson tennis or pickleball courts, call 702-267-5707. Pickleball courts are tennis courts lined for pickleball play and are located at Siena Heights Trailhead and Mission Hills Park. Public reservations may be made 48 hours to one week in advance. No refunds will be granted if court time is not used. Reservations are not accepted for Sundays and holidays. Public. . $6/hour/court Private Instructors. . $15/hour/court Team Matches. . $12/hour/court Team Practices. . $10/hour/court SPECIAL PROGRAMS Adopt a Park The city invites groups, schools, businesses, and others to adopt a park, trail, open space, or a particular area or event in a specific park or trail. The program is designed to foster citizen awareness, support and community pride in the City of Henderson’s parks, trails and open spaces. It also educates the public about creating and preserving clean and safe parks and trails for everyone to enjoy. Community Cleanup Trailer The City of Henderson Commemorative Beautification Commission has a 20’ enclosed trailer full of hand tools and supplies available at no cost to Henderson residents and businesses to use for neighborhood cleanups and community projects. Community Pride Award The Commemorative Beautification Commission presents the Community Pride Award to recognize individuals and businesses who have improved the appearance of their neighborhood or added to the beauty or cleanliness of Henderson. The recipient receives an award sign, which is posted for several months in their yard or business exterior, to recognize their outstanding efforts. Previous winners include homeowners who have cleaned up a neglected yard or common area, or have converted turf to xeriscape, thereby improving the appearance of their home or community area. Henderson Trail Watch Trail Watch is looking for a few good volunteers. Do you enjoy running, walking, riding a bike, hiking, riding a horse, or exercising on Henderson trails? Then why not volunteer your time while doing something you enjoy? Henderson Trail Watch is a volunteer group dedicated to promoting safety and appropriate trail use by providing information and assistance to trail users, observing and documenting safety issues requiring attention, and serving as a positive presence on Henderson trails.
