Henderson, Nev. – Mayor Debra March and the Henderson City Council will present the first Mayor’s Honor Roll recognition of the 2018/2019 school year to Pinecrest Academy of Nevada Schools, which encompasses four elementary and four middle schools, tonight at 6 p.m. at the city council meeting.

“We are pleased to present the Mayor’s Honor Roll award to this network of charter schools that demonstrates a commitment to providing an atmosphere in which students can perform at the highest level on all academic measures,” said Mayor March.

The Mayor’s Honor Roll is designed to recognize Henderson students, parents, teachers, administrators and support staff who demonstrate achievement in categories such as leadership, respect and integrity, innovation, volunteerism, and love of learning. Mayor’s Honor Roll recipients will be honored at city council meetings for their achievements with a medal and a certificate of recognition.

Pinecrest Academy of Nevada Schools received five-star ratings from the Nevada Department of Education for each of its schools. Only 108 of the 678 Nevada schools rated received five stars, the highest designation within the Nevada School Performance Framework, which is the state’s accountability system for public schools.
