Henderson, Nev. – Henderson Police will begin an enhanced traffic enforcement program targeting impaired drivers beginning December 18th and runs through January 1st to include Christmas and New Year’s Day.

As part of the Joining Forces program, law enforcement agencies statewide will work together in an effort to help bring greater awareness to the importance of safe and sober driving during the holidays. During this time, Henderson Police will dedicate extra officers for enforcement with the aim of reducing tragedies caused by people driving while impaired.

Henderson Police always urge the public to use a designated sober driver, taxi, or a ride-sharing company to avoid the potentially devastating impacts of drunk driving.

The Henderson Police Department received $183,860 in federal funding for the extra patrols through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2019 (Performance period Oct 1, 2018 thru Sept 30, 2019) Joining Forces program.

Joining Forces is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement program aimed at reducing injuries and crashes through statewide enforcement of traffic safety laws. The goal is to save lives by increasing public awareness about the dangers of making poor choices while driving.

Nevada’s goal is Zero Fatalities on our roads. To reach this goal it is critical to always drive sober. Visit https://zerofatalitiesnv.com/ for more information.
