Henderson Police Release Body Worn Camera Footage of 3rd Officer-Involved Shooting

Henderson, Nev. – Henderson Police are providing the following information and YouTube link regarding the officer involved shooting that took place on September 22, 2018.

On September 22, 2018 at approximately 4:52 a.m., Henderson Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Teton Ranch Avenue and Carnegie Street in reference to a violent armed robbery.

During the initial investigation, Officers identified a suspect vehicle, which was observed in the area of Boulder Highway and Texas Avenue. Officers initiated a traffic stop, however the vehicle failed to yield and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspect driver stopped in the area of Gibson Road and Trail Canyon Road and exited his vehicle where he initially displayed a handgun in a suicidal manner prior to fleeing on foot.

Officer’s pursued the suspect on foot arriving in the area of Gibson Road and Auto Show Drive. The suspect still holding the handgun in a suicidal manner, was verbally challenged by officers at which time he leveled the handgun, pointing it at officers where they responded with deadly force.

The male suspect was pronounced at scene.

This investigation is on-going and no additional details will be released at this time.
