Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Targeting Impaired Drivers and Riders

Henderson, Nev. – The Henderson Police Department handed out 291citations to motorists during a recent enforcement effort targeting impaired drivers and riders.

Henderson Police conducted the Joining Forces event from August 25, 2018 through September 10, 2018 using saturation patrols.

Police initiated 362 stops during the 17 day operation, to include a fugitive arrest and a DUI arrest.  Officers issued 230 citations to motorists for speeding violations, 15 citations for cell phone violations, 17 citations for red light violations, and another 29 citations for various other violations.

The Henderson Police Department received $134,392.15 in federal funding through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2018 Joining Forces program. The grant provides funding for enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year will focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving and impaired driving.
