Henderson Police Conclude Joining Forces Event Targeting Impaired Drivers

Henderson, Nev. – The Henderson Police Department concluded its first campaign under the Joining Forces Program.
During the enforcement initiative that ran from October 19, through November 4, 2018, Henderson Police stopped 341 motorists.
Of the 341 traffic stops completed by officers 11 arrests were completed for driving under the influence. Additionally 156 drivers were cited for speeding, 8 citations for distracted driving (cell phone use), 33 citations for red light violations, 27 citations for registration violations, 24 citations for no insurance and several other citations were issued for other traffic related offenses.
This was the first Joining Forces event for the Henderson Police Department under the current grant.
The Henderson Police Department received $183,860 in federal funding through the Nevada Department of Public Safety - Office of Traffic Safety for the 2019 Joining Forces Program (Performance period October 1, 2018 thru September 30, 2019). The grant provides funding for enforcement and education to reduce deaths and injuries on Nevada roadways. Enforcement events during the year focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, speeding, distracted driving and impaired driving.
