Henderson, Nev. – A rock show with KISS, Guns N’ Roses, Journey, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Van Halen and Queen is coming to Henderson next month. The band Hairball is bringing its bombastic celebration of arena rock – most likely with big hair, leather jackets and pyrotechnics, and of course, an anthology of greatest hits from the 1980s – to the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Pkwy., at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 8. Tickets start at $18.50 per person.
Three vocalists – Joe, Steve and Bobby – will lead the band through more than two hours of a “mind-blowing, drop-dead and accurate homage to some of the biggest arena acts in the world,” according to the band’s website. Each will emulate the era’s legendary front men, complete with costumes, including Dee Snider’s over-the-top makeup, dance moves like Axl Rose’s iconic sway, and spot-on vocals only Freddy Mercury could belt out, from some of the most memorable acts of the decade.
Also at the center of the band are a group of talented musicians – Freaky on bass guitar, Blake on drums and Happy on lead guitar – who take the concert from one famous band to the next. The trio, as referenced on the band’s website, “pride themselves on nailing some of the most memorable licks and chops of all time, while adding their own style and flare.”
Hairball has been rocking fans with its 1980s tribute for nearly 20 years. Although the band has performed for thousands of fans across the nation, the Sept. 8 performance at the Henderson Pavilion is the first time Hairball has performed in Southern Nevada. The show also kicks off the Henderson Pavilion’s 15th anniversary season, which also includes performances by Greensky Bluegrass, Get the Led Out, Wilson Phillips and the Henderson Symphony Orchestra.
