City of Henderson Hosts Get Outdoors Nevada Day this Sat. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Park

Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson is hosting the 4th annual Get Outdoors Nevada Day on Sat. Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Park, located at 1600 Wigwam Pkwy. The free family-friendly event features activities for all ages, live demonstrations and the opportunity to enjoy being outdoors at one of Henderson’s newest parks filled with walking trails, sports courts and a scenic 31-acre lake.
Henderson Mayor Debra March will kick-off the event at 9 a.m. and will lead a moment of silence in memory of the victims of this week’s Las Vegas strip tragedy. A full event schedule and list of all the available activities can be found on the Get Outdoors Nevada Day website. Highlights include: BMX and kayaking demonstrations, climbing wall, fun walk/5K run, archery and BB gun ranges, food trucks and a live DJ. There will also be exhibitors and interactive displays sharing information on a wide range of topics for all interests.
Parking for the event is free and no reservations are needed. All leashed, polite and well-behaved furry friends are also invited to attend.
Get Outdoors Nevada Day is organized by the Outside Las Vegas Foundation and is designed to highlight all Southern Nevada has to offer in recreational activities, education, volunteering, tourism and local businesses. The City of Henderson and hendersonstrong are among the sponsors of this year’s event.
